I can't remove the battery right now because the little lock switch is broken and i'm having problems (caused by the battery when it charges) so I was wondering if its possible to turn of charging?
Well, I need to have the ac adapter plugged in (because the battery problems) so I can't do that. :

If you only unplug the power cord going to the notebook, the battery will not be able to charge. Simple procedure.
