Will a 100W power adapter work on a 120W Asus G50VT-X2 noteb

I bought the Asus G50VT-X2 notebook in Canada, but need to use it in South Africa. As they have different power standards, a power adapter is probably needed to use the notebook without damage. Will a 100W power adapter do the trick, or not? And if not, what kind of power adapter should I get?

your power adapter is auto sensing, 100 - 240 volts ac, 50 / 60 hz
meaning it is fit for global usage

only issue would be wall plug / socket would be shaped different
a simple wall plug adapter should do the trick

just take your power adaper to any computer or electrical store in host country & you will get the required part

just btw. if your original power adapter is 120 watts, a 100 watt replacement will not work. you can get one with same or higher wattage, NOT lower & from asus that.

Majority of all laptop adapters work under 110 to 240V. You will only need to purchase a local adapter to plug in your adapter to the local mains.

If you plan to use any other adapter than the supplied adapter with the laptop, then you should make sure the other adapter matches the watts, and the output ratings of your original adapter.
