As mentioned by Brad from Liliputing.com there is an unoffical release of the tweaked version of Windows 7 Ultimate that is expected to run on any Netbooks. That is correct, even the ones which have 4GB of HDD. This is of course not released by Microsoft so your build may expire. As I did not try it myself so I cannot comment on this. Before CES predictions where that smartbooks would flood the show floor. Well, Its a netbook that runs with NiMH 8 pcs (4 hours), Li+ 3S (4 hours) or Li+ 3S2P (6 hours) battery. Yes that is correct. Its an innovative Netbook that concentrates new ideas.  It however has some downsides as it comes with a 1GHz XCore86 CPU which is pretty slow in our current standards. Windows XP was pretty slow on the test that was done with it. From what I understand both of them has the same specification except one vital difference.
Once comes with a higher battery power than the other. The Eee PC 1005PE comes with a 63Whr or a 48Whr battery and the Eee PC 1005P comes with a battery with a lower capacity. Asus claims that a 48Whr battery will provide 11 hours of battery life.
