Guys over at Dell Blog compiled the Chrome OS version for Dell Mini 10v.

The build is an USB version so it is work giving it a shot. Something interesting to look into this build is that wifi support has been added to this build.

Well it is not actually ture!! But it could happen that we receive very cheap Smartbooks.

According to a Linux Expert Glyn Moody thinks that maybe when Google is ready with the Chrome OS they might simply give away free Netbooks or Smartbooks to customers in return of Advertisements being displayed all around the Space.

Maybe It might happen, but I dont think it would be a wise decision for providing such services with Smartbooks ...

 Post subject: PEGATRON unveils a 10-inch SMARTBOOK

A 10-inch smartbook from Pegatron was introduced at the Connected Community Technical Symposium this Friday. As mentioned at Shanzai it will run a Linux Ubuntu system powered the bhe ARM based processor.

GM Chou Biao Sheng of Pegatron pointed out two very significant informations :
  • Starting Supplying Smartbooks in the 1st Quarter of 2009
  • Price Less than $200

Details are not available as much, but wow a 10-inch mobile device for less than $200 ...

As soon as Google introduced the source code for their Chrome OS one of the engineers @ http://www.gdgt.com compiled the source to develop an image of VMWare.

At an event at Mountain View, Calif., HQ Google representatives on Thursday morning demonstrated the Chrome OS, the new Operating system which would be used mostly for Netbooks as well as smartbooks.

Qualcomm shows off its first ever Smartbook manufactured by Lenovo and it will use AT&T as carrier.
