Sascha from Netbook news got hands on the latest release of the product and posted a review video about it.

The latest version of Jolicloud completely removed the Ubuntu Netbook Remix program Launcher and the user interface has been updated and built using HTML5.

The whole system has an uniform look by that I mean everything is synchronized. As we know that Jolicloud runs native Linux applications, it is also capable of running web apps and this feature makes it a good solution for Smartbooks.

As a result, you can intal desktop applications like Skype or GIMP and also install applications like Facebook and Twitter with icons showing up on your screen. As I mentioned earlier, even the start menu is based on HTML5 so that gives a view of the developers interest on HTML5.

The OS has a few nice power management feature for netbooks but I am sure they will work on the smartbook chips as soon as they are available. It definitely seems to be promising for smartbooks and we have decided to open a section for it.
