Jolicould : A Good Solution for Smartbooks

If you guys are not aware of this Jolicloud launched it first major pubic beta last week. Jolicloud has a linux core and is made to be fast (15 sec Boot) and is relatively small in size (600MB)

Unlike the Chrome OS Jolicloud supports desktop installations and also supports Adobe's popular Air runtime environment. You can also see softwares like Skype, Firefox, the VLC media player and Dropbox.

What we have here is a hybrid OS which can benefit from the Cloud computing idea as well as from the Desktop centric features.

Jolicould seems to be a good competitor for the chrome OS only time can see how things go.
