So what is the NorhTec Gecko Edubook

Well,
Its a netbook that runs with NiMH 8 pcs (4 hours), Li+ 3S (4 hours) or Li+ 3S2P (6 hours) battery. Yes that is correct. Its an innovative Netbook that concentrates new ideas.



It however has some downsides as it comes with a 1GHz XCore86 CPU which is pretty slow in our current standards.

Windows XP was pretty slow on the test that was done with it. So our only option to use this device would be to use a Linux OS like Jolicloud or Puppy Linux.

Since it is slow even for XP, what is the plus point then? (Compared to Atom)

In my opinion, NiMH for a netbook in this age is quite a few step backward. Or they have a good reason not to use Li-ion other than costing?
