What exactly is a smartbook?

Before CES predictions where that smartbooks would flood the show floor. If you do not know yet, Qualcomm in referring to tiny laptop-like devices as smartbooks which would be using processors that are in/ from smartphone-level CPUs, but are in more cases regularise author powerful.



The two most informal CPUs seem to be the Snapdragon from Qualcomm and the Tegra/Tegra 2 from Nvidia, both using ARM-based processors.

The idea was to have a device somewhere between a smartphone and a Netbook--hence "smartbook."

Unfortunately, it's an easier thought to buy into in theory than in pattern. Netbooks run Linux or, virtually universally nowadays, Windows. Netbooks can run a desktop surroundings.

There are talks of smartbooks be a substitute for devices like Netbooks or equivalent smartphones? So far, it's indistinct, but it's believable to be either Google's Chrome OS or a saltation of Linux that runs most smartbooks.

The Lenovo Skylight has a Snapdragon CPU and its own Linux-based OS, while the Mobinnova, to be offered from AT&T in plus to the Skylight, promises HD video playback and cloud-based web feeding with its Tegra CPU, but no understandably specified OS.

A Freescale Smartbook/tablet hybrid system run Android or Linux.

There are many rumors of Smartbook tablets being thing of the future but we are yet to get any updates on that.
