Wireless with super speed for Smartbooks

Most of us expect smartbooks to be integrated with 3G but guess what Wi-Fi is also not holding back on its performace.

‘WiGig Alliance’ has announced the completion of its proposed wireless specification which will 7 gigabits per second. 10 times faster than current fastest 802.11n. Wow!! That is going to be some speed on the wireless network.

Much has been made of the smartbook platform’s mission statement to ship with integrated 3G, but the evolution of Wi-Fi is also a key aspect to their connectivity.

However, WiGig relies on 60-GHz frequency so it is going to be expensive to produce it but it is claimed to be compitable with Wi-Fi, HDMI, DisplayPort, and Wireless USB. These features would be an important aspect for Smartbooks.
